It's ok.

We are sold a version of the holidays that doesn't exist.

The movies tell us everything has to be magical,
effortless,
and perfect.

But real life is messy, loud, and oftentimes exhausting.

A gentle reminder to you this season,

that self-compassion starts the moment you drop the rope in the tug-of-war against perfection.

If the cookies burn, a store-bought is ok.

If you’re too tired for a party invite, stay home.

You are not failing at the holidays because you are human.

Holiday magic isn't found in a flawless performance, but in the gentle acceptance of a messy reality.
