Many of you are visiting loved ones’ grave sites…for most of you, to honor and celebrate their life and for many, to continue to grieve and mourn your loss.
Grief is normal. Grief is a process. Grief doesn’t stop. If we run from it, it will continue to paralyze us, but if we face it, it will transform us. In grief, we don’t move on but we live on.
Death ends a life but it doesn’t end relationships. it may have severed our physical ties with our loved ones but it will not cut the bond of love we have with them.
Our loved ones may have passed on but their influence in us can still be felt and they can still be a resource to us especially when life gets difficult, when we need them most—the bond of love will continue to be a source of hope, of comfort, and peace, to help us endure the vicissitudes of life.
And when we need to celebrate, that same bond will magnify the joy we feel. We can continue to draw strength from our loved ones even beyond the grave. We can continue to honor their memories by the kind of life we live and the meaning we make from our losses.
Peace and love💗
